Houston, TX – 50 Cent has raised an impressive $500,000 for the Houston Children’s Charity at its annual gala.

The G-Unit boss auctioned off two special oversized bottles of his Le Chemin du Roi champagne at the event, which brought in half a million dollars to help children in the Houston area.

Alongside footage from the night, 50 wrote on Instagram: “Houston children’s charity is an amazing organization … I helped raise 500,000 thousand for the kids last night i had a ball.”

The video showed the “In Da Club” legend charming the audience with his trademark sense of humor, joking that the auctioner “might be on cocaine” due to his rapid-fire speech and that the winning bidder of his champagne was “rich as a muthafucka.”

Fif also upped the ante by bringing out Houston Texans legend Andre Johnson on stage.

Overall, the gala raised in excess of $6 million — a new record — and was attended by other celebrities such as actor Jeremy Renner.

50 Cent has been heavily involved in charity work in Houston since moving to the Texas city four years ago.

Around Christmas time in 2020, he made a big contribution to City Wide Club, which organizes food and toys for kids.

50 donated about $850,000 worth of toys to the holiday event in an effort to help the nonprofit reach its goal of giving away 100,000 toys to local children.

“You make more, you give more back,” he said at a press conference. “They already have the foundation in this community built, so I was able to just make the collaboration, so you know it’s real as soon as you get in there.”

He added: “This is really exciting. It’s a new opportunity for me to start a new relationship with Houston. I’m excited about it. I had a lot of fun things for the kids I think they’ll appreciate and enjoy it.”

The rapper and media mogul also awarded a scholarship worth $48,000 in 2022 to a local high school student through his G-Star program.

The scholarship allowed Kennedy Nelms, a senior at Kashmere High School, to continue her studies for a further four years at the University of Texas at Austin, her “dream school.”

“My G Stars are no joke, Kennedy from Kashmere HS was just awarded a four year scholarship to the University of Texas!” 50 captioned an Instagram photo of Nelms holding her scholarship check. “I’m So proud of these kids. H TOWN you know the vibes she gonna get to the bread.”

As a result of his philanthropic efforts in Houston, 50 was awarded a key to the city in November 2022, describing it as “an honor.”
