WHAT HAPPENED?
Garnacho is being gradually eased back into action by Erik ten Hag as he had a busy summer with the Argentine national team in Copa America. His first start of the season came against Liverpool on Sunday, but the young winger struggled to make an impact as the Red Devils were thrashed 3-0 on home turf. The youngster endured a difficult afternoon and was eventually substituted for Amad Diallo in the second half.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Following the match, a fan took to social media to mock Garnacho with a two-minute and 17-second video compilation titled “Alejandro Garnacho – season so far”, which highlighted a series of mistakes the winger has made this season. The clips included instances of Garnacho losing possession, being tackled, and showing visible frustration on the pitch.

WHAT GARNACHO SAID
As per talkSPORT, Garnacho did not take the criticism lightly and responded with a tweet, which has since been deleted, that read: “Wasting your time making clips for me – your life so far.”
The fan who posted the video was quick to reply: “Focus on your first touch and dribbling you b*m. If you weren’t so bad I wouldn’t have any footage to post.”
He went on to add a couple of more tweets targeting Garnacho. The first one read: “Oi I’m in tears, he really searched up his own name all for him to see a whole comp of his sh*t performances. His head is GONE. Do ur talking on the pitch you insecure bum.”
In the next tweet he warned Garnacho: “Next time don’t try come at me sideways you insecure dud of a man. Instead of taking time practising and evaluating how bad he is, he tried to score points on me only for the comp to fully bang and then to get ratioed 😭. The masses are slowly clocking onto you 🫵 @agarnacho7.”

DID YOU KNOW?
Garnacho has made some positive contributions to United’s campaign this season, despite the online criticism. He provided an assist for Joshua Zirkzee’s winning goal against Fulham on the opening weekend of the Premier League. Additionally, Garnacho he thought he’d found the back of the net against Brighton during United’s 2-1 defeat, but his goal was disallowed after replays showed that the ball had gone in off Zirkzee, who was in an offside position.

WHAT NEXT FOR GARNACHO?
After fulfilling his international commitments with Argentina during the international break, Garnacho will aim to prove his critics wrong when United face Southampton on September 14 in the Premier League.
