National Party presidential candidate Ana García expressed her concern on Friday on the program Frente a Frente about the direction the country has taken and pointed out the lack of a clear vision in the current government.
During the interview, Garcia said that “the situation in the country is critical, people have no work, everything is more expensive, violence has unfortunately returned to flood our streets, towns and villages.”
García noted that many Hondurans remember with nostalgia the times when the National Party was in power, stating that “they say, lawyer, we were better off 4, 5, 6 years ago when the National Party was in power than we are today.”
He said that during his travels around the country, he hears people’s desire to “rescue Honduras,” a sentiment that he considers a reflection of disappointment over the current government’s unfulfilled promises.
“It is a setback in all aspects that we can review,” García stressed, insisting that she and her team are working to position themselves as a “clear option for victory within the National Party.”
Castro has even defended his administration by arguing that “we are not the same” as those who governed in the last two decades, a reference to the National Party , and he maintains that in two years and eight months progress has been made “like never before” in Honduras
