THE BIGGER PICTURE
Ronaldo remains the all-time leading goalscorer in UEFA Champions League competition, but is now plying his trade in the Middle East for Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr. He found the target on 50 occasions for them last season and is already up to seven efforts through eight appearances this term.
WHAT RONALDO SAID
Ronaldo’s latest strike came in an AFC Champions League win over Al Rayyan, as he grabbed the winner in that contest, and he has told Al-Nassr’s official media of continuing to thrive on the grandest of stages: “We had a good game. It’s a Champions League game, so it’s always special. I think the team played very well. We created so many opportunities. We played well. We didn’t concede too many opportunities and we deserved to win.”

WHAT NEXT?
CR7 won the Arab Club Champions Cup with Al-Nassr in 2023 and is eager to add more medals to his remarkable collection before hanging up his boots. He is looking to reach 1,000 goals before that day comes, with a big decision approaching on his future as his lucrative contract in Riyadh runs down.
