The Argentine Association of Actors and Actresses announced the sad news of the death of Carmen Selva , better known in the artistic world as Selva Alemán , at the age of 80.
According to entertainment journalist Pilar Smith, who managed to speak with Arturo Puig, her current partner, the Argentine actress died of a heart attack.
” Selva Alemán died of a heart attack. I spoke with Arturo Puig ,” the journalist said through her personal X account, formerly called Twitter, and in a message she said that the actor ” is devastated .”
It is worth remembering that Alemán and Puig married in 2001 and since then they have formed one of the most established couples in the world of entertainment, so their fans ask if they ever had children together.
Did Arturo Puig and Selva Alemán have children?
Before getting married in 2001, Arturo Puig and Selva Alemán met in 1974 during the first reading of the scripts for the soap opera ‘Fernanda, Martín y nadie más’. Although the production was not a success, it served as their first meeting.
However, their love was not easy because at that time they were both married. Puig was the father of two children. ” We had to pretend what was really happening to us ,” said the 80-year-old woman.
As time went by, they decided to be honest with their respective partners and in 2001 they celebrated their civil wedding and later their honeymoon in Boston, United States. ” We really enjoy traveling, especially for the memories that remain ,” said the actor and theater director.
Their love lasted for 50 years, however, the couple did not have children together; this was because Selva Alemán could not, but that was an impediment to having a harmonious relationship with Arturo, who had Ximena and Juan.
An example of the above is that both enjoy their grandchildren: Nikolay, Elizabetha and Santos. The first two are adopted children of Ximena, with her husband Fernando, while the last is a descendant of Juan, and his wife Florencia.
” Grandchildren allow us to rediscover life through their innocent eyes ,” said Selva Alemán, who despite not having children of her own always seemed happy with her family.
