The moment of the assault was recorded in a video that was shared on social media.
A Colombian journalist was the victim of an assault in Bogotá, Colombia, after criminals drugged him with scopolamine, beat him and left him unconscious on the side of the road.
Scopolamine is a drug used in small amounts to prevent nausea, but which some criminals use to drug their victims.
The assault was recorded in a video that was released by the director of Red+ Noticias , Giovanni Celis Sarmiento, through his x account. In the clip, which lasts just a few seconds, you can see how two men hold the journalist, who is almost unconscious due to the drug.
One of the men looked around several times to make sure no one was watching. After taking his belongings, the criminals beat him.
According to what the journalist told the media outlet he works for, one of the men approached him to tell him that he needed to talk to someone because he was going through a difficult situation.
“He talked to me about his partner, about many personal issues, just to try to gain that trust and basically at one point he offered me to have a beer. I took the beer out of where he had it in the suitcase and once I took it out I lost consciousness and the next memory I have is walking barefoot along a Transmilenio lane,” said the journalist.
