Big Boi and CeeLo Green have paid tribute to Rico Wade‘s mother who has died just months after her son.
Beatrice Wade’s death was announced by Big Boi on Wednesday (October 16), with the OutKast legend posting a picture of the woman on Instagram and writing: “RIP Mama Wade.
Fellow Dungeon Family member CeeLo Green also posted the same photo and wrote: “#rip #moma wade from the entire @dungeon_family prayers to everyone affected [prayer emoji] #thankyou so very much #love.”
Rico’s Organized Noize production partner Sleepy Brown also mourned Beatrice’s death on social media, commenting: “Love you mama Wade.”
A cause of death has yet to be announced.
Earlier this year, Beatrice Wade hosted a Dungeon Family reunion at her family home in Atlanta, which was attended by the likes of André 3000, Big Boi, Killer Mike, Sleepy Brown and members of Goodie Mob.
The group got back together for a cookout to celebrate the life of Rico Wade, who died at the age of 52 from heart failure in April.

Atlanta record executive and Dungeon Family affiliate Kawan Prather wrote a lengthy tribute to Beatrice at the time, honoring the woman who opened up her home to the legendary Hip Hop collective in the 1990s, giving them a space to hone their crafts in the modest (but now famous) basement studio known as the Dungeon.
“The Mother Of The Dungeon Family. Mama Wade let a pack of wild young men take refuge in her home to make music. She’d provided a safe space for us to grow…creatively and as men,” he wrote. “Without this woman’s love and shelter, Atlanta might not be ‘This Atlanta’. Thank you Mama Wade for sharing your son and your home with us.”
In the aftermath of Rico Wade’s own passing, tributes flooded in from many of the Grammy-winner’s close friends and collaborators.
Big Boi wrote on Instagram: “This is a different type of hurt …. Slick Ricky Wade .. I know you’re with us STILL … in a bigger role now… Big Angel Energy… the Highest of Vibrations … Praise Yah.”
The OutKast lyricist also included a video of himself talking about Wade’s contributions to Hip Hop.
He said in the clip: “He was like the gateway to get to LA, as well as the producers who produced Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik. They signed OutKast. Organized Noize were responsible for us signing to LaFace Records. So without Rico Wade, Sleepy Brown and Ray Murray, there would [be no OutKast].”
