Jeff Goldblum was born in 1952 in Pennsylvania. From a very young age, he learned to play the piano and had a real revelation when he discovered jazz. “Very quickly, I wanted to play the piano. And I never let go. I discovered that music was the source of all human feelings,” he confided.

Another passion also devoured the young boy: he dreamed of becoming an actor. At the age of 17, he set off to conquer New York with this very goal in mind. While studying theater, the young actor was spotted by a producer and began his career on Broadway, with a musical comedy.

He then had a series of small roles in cinema and his eccentric appearance quickly made people talk about him. In 1980, he landed one of the two main roles in the series “Shy and Without Complex”. He can also be seen in successful films such as “The Fly” (the terrifying David Cronenberg film for which he endured 5 hours of makeup every day), “The Player”, “Jurassic Park”, “Independence Day”, as well as on the small screen, playing in the well known series “Will & Grace”.

The actor has not forgotten his other passion and continues to play jazz today, far away from film sets. He regularly performs on stage with his friend and actor Peter Weller and producer John Mastro, notably at the Rockwell Hotel, where they meet every Wednesday in front of a captivated audience. In 1990, they called themselves “The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra” after they were invited to play at the Hollywood Jazz Festival.

This passion, which remained discreet, burst into the open in 2017, when he accompanied his friend Gregory Porter on the piano during a show on the BBC. A year later, with his band, he finally released his first album “The Capitol Studios Sessions” in which he covers great jazz standards. Two other albums followed, while the band played concerts, regularly inviting guests like Miley Cyrus or Fiona Apple to join them in the studio or on stage.

A new career for this eccentric artist who seems determined to explore all facets of his personality. “Life always finds a way,” as his character said in “Jurassic Park”!
