This celebration originated in 2014 when users used the hashtag #nationalboyfriendday ; however, the impact was not immediate and it had to wait a few years for it to become prominent.
It was only recently that Groom’s Day became an important celebration for couples, and its importance is due to social media, which has been responsible for popularizing the date.
Since then, in Latin America, Australia and Canada, it was established that every first Tuesday in October would be celebrated for those men who are in a romantic relationship.
However, it is important not to confuse this date with Boyfriend’s Day in the United States, which is celebrated on August 8, or with Girlfriend’s Day, which is celebrated every first day of the eighth month of the year.
