The meeting between Bukele and Elon Musk took place at the Gigafactory plant in Austin, Texas, where Tesla car batteries are manufactured.
Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele held a meeting in the United States on Friday with technology magnate Elon Musk to discuss Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other topics, after which there was mutual praise.
” It was a pleasure to spend several hours talking with one of the great minds of our time @elonmusk,” Bukele wrote on his X account, the social network owned by Musk.
The Salvadoran president published a video in which he is received by Musk at the facilities of his Gigafactory plant in Austin, Texas , where the batteries for Tesla electric cars are manufactured , according to the Salvadoran Presidential House.
Musk, who is also the co-founder of companies such as Space X and xAI, also praised Bukele on his social network.
“Just had a great conversation with President @NayibBukele! We talked a lot about the nature of reality, the future of humanity , and how technology like AI and robotics will impact the world. El Salvador has an amazing leader,” Musk wrote.
Bukele, who did not specify when he traveled to the United States, will participate in the UN General Assembly in New York next week.
