Presidential candidates are eagerly awaiting to find out which company will broadcast the preliminary election results for the 2025 elections.
“We are waiting for the National Electoral Council to finally make a decision on who will manage the electoral broadcast, because the process of the internal and general elections largely depends on that,” said the National Party candidate, Jorge Zelaya.
Zelaya stressed that elections “Honduras style” must be avoided and that to do so they must ensure that the candidates chosen by the people are elected and not those “decided by the power structures.”
He also assured that his movement is ready to submit the ballots for the internal elections in March 2025.
He recalled that they will be strict with those movements that do not meet the requirements to be registered.
TREP
The plenary session of the National Electoral Council (CNE) will receive today the complete report of the companies that offered services for the Preliminary Electoral Results Transmission System ( TREP ).
The commission will submit the analysis of the tender participants and, after receiving it, the electoral body authorities will enter into session.
The TREP will be used at the three electoral levels for the 2025 primary elections (president, deputies, mayors), with the results of the presidential candidates being transmitted first.
The objective of implementing the TREP is to increase transparency and confidence in the electoral process, allowing for more effective monitoring of results in real time.
