The Carter Center was invited to observe the Venezuelan elections on July 28.

The Carter Center on Wednesday presented to the OAS “original records” of the elections in Venezuela that “prove” the victory of opposition leader Edmundo González Urrutia over Nicolás Maduro.

“I just received what was sent by international mail and I would like to share this with you after the session so you can see that these are original minutes from Venezuela that have a very significant QR code ,” said Jennie K. Lincoln, advisor for Latin America and the Caribbean at the Carter Center .

This code “allowed witnesses, electoral observers from thousands and thousands of voting centers, to systematically collect information from original data produced by the CNE ,” the National Electoral Council added before the Organization of American States in Washington.

“This is the key point of this election,” Lincoln insisted.

The Carter Center was invited to observe the July 28 election in which President Nicolás Maduro was declared the winner for a third six-year term amid allegations of fraud.

Lincoln proved them right

The data “show that Edmundo González won more than 67% of the votes and Nicolás Maduro obtained 31%,” but “the responsibility” of declaring this falls on the electoral authority, he said.

González Urrutia chose to seek asylum in Spain after spending a month in hiding and being the subject of an arrest warrant in Venezuela.

Not only does the opposition know the “true results” of the elections, but “the government,” the CNE and “the military” are also aware of them because the electronic voting system “worked,” said the representative of the Carter Center.

“The world knows what happened on July 28; now they have the TRUTH in their hands!” Machado responded on social media X.

The United States and much of the international community have denounced electoral fraud and demanded the publication of the minutes, which Caracas has refused to do.

During the session of the Permanent Council, the executive body of the organization, the Secretary General of the OAS , Luis Almagro , denounced an electoral process that “was neither fair nor free nor transparent.”

“As expected, no minutes or evidence of the election results were presented,” he said.

“As expected, a fraudulent result was announced” that “was hidden behind torture, behind murders, behind forced disappearances, behind political persecution,” he stressed.

Maduro ‘s controversial re-election sparked protests in the Caribbean country that left 27 dead, some 200 injured and more than 2,400 arrested.
