Roma have been linked with several names including Chelsea icon Frank Lampard and European Championship-winning Italy coach Roberto Mancini in the past few weeks. Now The Athletic reports that former Premier League-winning Leicester City boss Ranieri could come out of retirement and take charge of the team on an interim basis. The 73-year-old head coach had brought the curtain down on his 37-year-long managerial career in the summer after steering Cagliari to safety in Serie A in the 2023-24 campaign.

The Italian has already managed Roma on two occasions in the past. He first took charge of the club in 2009 and spent two years at Stadio Olimpico before returning in 2019 on a short-term basis.
