Coldplay get the Barcelona Clasico kit treatment! ‘Moon Music’ design revealed for Real Madrid clash – with limited edition glow-in-the-dark versions of special shirt being released

Following previous collaborations with The Rolling Stones and Drake, Coldplay are the latest musicians to get the Barcelona Clasico kit treatment.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The record-breaking Brit Award-winning band will see the logo from their ‘Moon Music’ album adorn the legendary Blaugrana jersey when they face arch-rivals Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu on October 26. Barcelona Femeni will don the shirt when tackling Eibar in Liga F on November 2.

    Barca have, through their sponsorship deal with music streaming platform Spotify, previously enjoyed front-of-shirt takeovers from KAROL G, The Rolling Stones, ROSALIA and Drake. Coldplay now take on that honour, with their ‘Moon Music’ logo having been designed by a fan.

We’ve had a special relationship with the city and the club for many years. We’re also proud to support the UNHCR in their life-saving work to protect refugees and displaced people around the world.       Juli Guiu, VP Marketing at Barcelona, added: “We are delighted that through our partnership with Spotify, that Coldplay will feature on the FC Barcelona shirt for El Clasico. The band and the club have a mutual love which stretches back many years from the band visiting training sessions, to Barca players watching Coldplay live in Barcelona over the years, to the band’s music soundtracking some of the club’s best moments.”

      WHAT NEXT?

      Inspired by the club’s founding year, 1899 jerseys will be made available for purchase. Barcelona “super fans” will also get the chance to buy into a special collection of 22 glow-in-the-dark shirts – with 11 of those signed by the men’s team and 11 by the women’s. All net proceeds from sales will got to The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) – a charitable partnership that Barca entered into back in 2022.
