Some striking videos from India are causing a stir and disgust.
The videos show cooks spitting into meals and another video shows a domestic worker mixing urine into the food she is preparing. The horrific images went viral. The authenticity of the images could not yet be verified.
States of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh are already looking to tighten food safety laws due to the spitting videos. Anyone who spits, urinates or contaminates food in any way risks fines of up to 100,000 rupees (1,100 euros), or even imprisonment for up to 10 years. So writes the BBC.
