DaBaby has informed fans and the general public that he refuses to get pulled into any drama moving forward, after mixed reactions to his comments from a recent interview.

The North Carolina rapper made the declaration on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday (October 25), a day after people began commenting and reacting to a clip from his appearance on the latest episode of Drink Champs.

In the snippet, DaBaby made it clear that he wanted to work with Megan Thee Stallion again, and implored her to “come home.”

As fans responded to the clip, DaBaby tweeted: ” Them days of baiting me into the bullshit OVER WIT. I ain’t got nothing for ya but good music and entertainment. controversy & violence done cost me enough.”

Shortly there after, he quoted XXL‘s coverage of the Drink Champs preview on X, and offered some clarification.

“I understand your perspective,” he wrote, “but honestly I just wanted to avoid putting one of the ladies above the other and give love & respect to both of em. I know the drama n shit more entertaining, but I done learned that if ima say anything ima make sure it’s sumn positive. Don’t overthink it world.”

It wasn’t clear who’s “perspective” prompted DaBaby to respond.

While speaking to the hosts of Drink Champs in a promotional clip released on Thursday (October 24), DaBaby made it clear that he wants Megan to collaborate with him again.

“I got love for Meg. Me and Meg made some dope shit together and it’s good to see her rise above the obstacles,” he said, referencing the fallout from her 2020 shooting at the hands of Tory Lanez.

Baby then proposed a track for him and the Houston Hottie to reunite on: “I’m manifesting a song with Glo[Rilla], Meg and Baby together. I think that’s the way me and Meg should pop back out because I feel like ain’t none of these n-ggas — and no disrespect to who y’all making music with — can really embody that. You gotta come get that shit from Baby.”

He added: “Come home, baby. You ain’t gotta be making all that lame shit with these other n-ggas when you can come get it in. Or, you know, we can not. I know how to talk that shit […] I’m open to it. Shout out to Meg.”

The pair released a string of successful collaborations together between 2019 and 2020, including the four-times platinum “Cry Baby,” the platinum-certified “Cash Shit” and “Nasty.”

Co-host N.O.R.E. agreed with DaBaby’s assessment and compared their musical chemistry to that of JAY-Z and Foxy Brown in the 1990s

While DaBaby is keen to rekindle their partnership, the feeling is unlikely to be reciprocated by Megan Thee Stallion given their complicated relationship in recent years.
