He is, however, a man of tradition and wanted Bowen to seek his approval before putting any engagement plans in place. The Three Lions winger is a busy boy, given the demands of his day job, and ended up having to seek Dyer’s hand in marriage via a phone call with her father.

Dani Dyer has told Fabulous magazine of how that episode played out: “I always said to him: ‘If you ever propose, you have to ask my dad.’ So I love that he did. My mum knew for months, because she helped him with the ring. He rang my dad. He would have liked to have done it face to face, but he was away with football. And my dad was over the moon. He is an emotional man and he said: ‘I’ve done my job now.’”
Bowen and Dyer are planning to tie the knot during the summer of 2025, with there no Premier League or international action to contend with then. Dyer added on showing considerable faith in the British weather: “We’ve found the venue, which is beautiful. It’s giving Bridgerton vibes. I want violins. I’m just praying it doesn’t rain. We’re getting married in the UK, so you never know!”

For now, Bowen and Dyer are drawing up plans for their respective stag and hen parties. The former will be heading to Las Vegas, with words of warning ringing in his ears, while the latter will be jetting to Ibiza alongside 16 members of her family and close friendship group.
