De Gea joined Fiorentina in August after more than a year out of the game. Yet the 33-year-old has shown few signs of rust as he’s been impressing with Fiorentina who currently sit fourth in the Serie A table. The stats also show that De Gea made the right move by joining the Italian side. The goalkeeper has three clean sheets to his name and two penalty saves. He also sits top of the save percentage table on 82 percentage, second in the saves per 90 minutes rankings (on 4.1) and sixth in the goals prevented table. Fiorentina are also now unbeaten in six consecutive games with De Gea in between the sticks.

The goalkeeper’s latest heroics came in a 1-0 win for Fiorentina against Genoa, with De Gea preserving his clean sheet after making a series of impressive saves, showing the kind of form that earned him the Player of the Month award. Fiorentina’s decision to sign De Gea is already looking like a very astute piece of business, with the goalkeeper looking sharp despite his long spell out of the game following his departure from Old Trafford.
