The sun invited many hiking and climbing enthusiasts outside last weekend in the north of Italy. But that ended in a tragedy for some of them.
This weekend, four hikers and climbers died in the Italian Alps. Three men and a woman died after falling from mountain peaks in Veneto, Trentino and Piedmont.
Two mountain climbers lost their lives in two accidents that occurred within an hour of each other. The third victim was a 26-year-old hiker who lost his balance and fell into a riverbed after falling about thirty meters. Another hiker, a 52-year-old man, died after falling about 400 meters.
