Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, has affirmed that the armed forces remain steadfast in their efforts to tackle the security challenges facing the country.
In his message to officers and personnel of the Armed Forces of Nigeria in Abuja on Tuesday, the defence chief urged all Nigerians to show appreciation and solidarity towards the armed forces.
He stressed that the armed forces belong to all Nigerians and called for increased support to eradicate all threats to national security and progress.
He also urged troops stationed across various operational areas to uphold discipline, resilience, patriotism, and bravery in their commitment to serving the nation.
According to him, their sacrifices and unwavering dedication to safeguard Nigeria were deeply appreciated.
“We recognise the sacrifices you make, sometimes at great personal cost, to ensure the peace and security of our nation,” he stated. “As chief of defence staff, I reaffirm my commitment to the welfare and well-being of our troops in all theatres of operation.”
According to him, the Sallah celebration is a chance to seek forgiveness, divine favour, and enduring peace for the nation.
“As you commemorate this sacred time, I urge you to uphold the virtues of piety, honesty, tolerance, love, and unity, which you embraced during Ramadan,” Mr Musa said.
He lauded the support of President Bola Tinubu to the armed forces despite the economic challenges facing the nation.
