Devastating flood in France…The chaos continues

While the south of France has been ravaged by the consequences of Cévennes episode, the situation finally seems to be calming down. A calming down that will nevertheless be short-lived.

On Wednesday and Thursday, extreme rains fell across the entire southern half of the country. This was part of the remains of Hurricane Leslie. They ultimately turned out to be more intense than expected. In the southeast, the cumulative rainfall represented the equivalent of a month’s worth of rain, in just two days, reports Futura-Sciences.

And it’s not over yet seeing as French meteorologists are predicting new bad weather from October 20. Heavy rain and storms are expected in France, fortunately at a much lower intensity.

La Chaine météo also indicates that “further rains are expected from Friday, which could become widespread and be quite heavy for the weekend in the southeast”.
