Princess Diana always wanted the best for her children. There is no doubt that her sons were the most important part of her life, and to this day, Prince Harry and Prince William have never forgotten the love their mother had for them.
According to royal expert Ingrid Seward, Diana once revealed she had “concerns” about Harry’s growth due, in part, to a certain favoritism towards William.
“We talked about it a lot ,” Seward said of Diana’s concern. “She said to me, ‘I’m worried about Harry and I’m really, really careful that he’s not treated any differently than William.'”
A frustrating situation
Seward also recalled a situation where the Queen Mother showed favoritism towards William. “When they went to see the Queen Mother, she would pat the chair and say ‘come sit here William’ and completely ignore Harry, and that really upset Diana.”
“I think she [Diana] was much more worried about Harry because she just wasn’t sure where he was going ,” Seward said.
Diana would be proud
Diana may have always worried about Harry, but she would probably be happy that he took the path he did. While some may disagree with Harry’s decision to leave the family, it seems like he wanted nothing more than to get out of the royal bubble. So he did what he felt he had to do, and his wife, Meghan Markle, said during the couple’s trip to Nigeria in May 2024 that she and Harry were “really happy.”
