Electricity rate reduction of 2.36% announced

This new tariff adjustment will take effect on October 1.

The Electric Energy Regulatory Commission ( CREE ) announced the authorized tariff structure for the National Electric Energy Company (ENEE), representing a reduction of 2.36%.

The new tariff structure will be in effect for the fourth quarter of 2024 (October, November and December).

This tariff adjustment is established in compliance with the provisions of the General Law of the Electricity Industry and aims to reflect the real costs of generation and distribution.

According to President Commissioner Virgilio Padilla, the electricity rate will be adjusted from 6.3949 lempiras per kilowatt hour (L/kWh) to 6.2440 L/kWh.

This new tariff adjustment will take effect on October 1.

However, the CREE statement clarifies that, following the instructions of the President of the Republic, Xiomara Castro, the rate will remain at 5.74 L/kWh for all subscribers of the National Electric Energy Company (ENEE).
