Exhilarating and atmospheric: the Porsche 911 GT3 and GT3 Touring

FAST DOWNLOAD

Every outing of a Porsche 911 GT3 is an event in itself. The sporty soul of the 911 finds its full range on the road, especially with the Touring, and on the circuit. And all this without turbo!

In the rear overhanging position, the 4.0 l naturally aspirated Boxer of the 911 GT3 distills 510 hp and 450 Nm. A magic potion linked to an automatic or manual gearbox. And yes, it is possible to opt for 3-pedal driving. Both the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (PDK) and the 6-speed GT manual gearbox have a shortened gear ratio for more aggressive driving. The new 911 GT3 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 s with the PDK gearbox and reaches a top speed of 311 km/h. With the manual gearbox, the performances are 3.9 s and 313 km/h.

Lightened

While meeting current environmental standards, with two particulate filters and four catalytic converters, these 911s have also lost weight. As standard, a new silver wheel design made of lightweight aluminum has reduced the unsprung masses by more than 1.5 kg compared to the previous model. But by customizing the coupe, it is possible to lighten it even further, reducing its weight to 1,420 kg. For gentlemen drivers wishing to test their dexterity on the racetrack, Porsche also offers the Weissach package to configure and customize the GT3 for use on the racetrack.

Fin question

The 911 GT3 has a spoiler that affirms its ambitions on the track. An appendage that the GT3 Touring does without. More intended for country trips, this variant can also receive two rear seats as an option for family outings. Both versions can count on the engineering work of the Zuffenhaus teams to improve precision, guide airflows and ensure lively behavior for these 911s glued to the ground. Thus, they have a new front diffuser, a refined spoiler lip and modified deflectors on the underbody to increase downforce. In addition, aerodynamic suspension swingarms with a teardrop profile increase downforce in the wheel arches and improve brake cooling. At the rear, the diffuser, air intakes and hood have been redesigned.

Bucket seats

The driver and his front passenger sit in bucket seats. They can be fitted with a CFRP (carbon fibre reinforced polymer) shell as an option. Porsche has equipped them with a chest airbag. As an option, they can be heated. The GT3 is entitled to an exclusivity. Because, unlike the Carrera models, it is not started using a button, but with an ignition switch. The manufacturer offers numerous packs and options for comfort or to prepare it for intensive use on the circuit, with a harness for example. This will inevitably increase the price beyond the €230,000 in the catalogue. But hey, Porsche offers an exclusive chronograph with a titanium case and equipped with the COSC-certified Porsche Design WERK 01.200 movement with flyback function.
