Grave of mother who murdered her son in satanic ritual desecrated

The grave of Maria Rosália Gonçalves Mendes, who brutally murdered her six-year-old son last September, was desecrated and her body set on fire by local residents on 21 October.

Maria had died on October 17 due to injuries sustained after the murder of her son, for which she never faced trial due to her hospitalization in João Pessoa, Paraíba, Brazil.

The murder, which took place on September 20, shocked the community when it was revealed that the boy was stabbed and decapitated in an alleged satanic ritual performed by his mother.

Upon arrival, police found Maria with two knives, with which she threatened the officers, resulting in a confrontation that caused serious injuries.

Local media reported that after her death, Maria’s body was buried in a private ceremony to avoid disturbances.

However, public outrage prevailed and an angry mob dug up and burned his remains in an act of collective revenge. So far, no one has been arrested for this act of violence.
