North Korea will soon send a second batch of troops to Russia, which the Americans say are potential targets if they attack Ukraine, according to Bloomberg.
South Korean intelligence reports that the first batch of 1,500 North Korean special forces troops is already training in the Russian Far East. In total, about 10,000 troops are expected.
Since August last year, Pyongyang has sent about 8 million shells to Russia. The Russian Federation has used North Korean-made ballistic missiles and anti-tank systems in the war against Ukraine.
For his part, John Kirby, the White House spokesman, said:
“If North Korean troops are deployed to fight in Ukraine, they will be legitimate targets. Ukrainian troops will defend themselves against North Korean troops in the same way they defend themselves against Russian troops. That is, the possibility of North Korean troops being killed and wounded is extremely high.”
