This is what is known about the incident that occurred on an intercity bus in San Pedro Sula.
A violent robbery left a tragic outcome on the interurban route San Pedro Sula – Calán – Los Castaños, with the murder of a passenger who tried to defend himself from the criminals. The victim was identified as Bladimir Escalante, 45 years old.
The incident occurred on a stretch of highway in Cortés, when the bus was intercepted by the criminals. Escalante apparently resisted the assault , which caused the criminals to open fire on him, resulting in his instant death.
Following the attack, the transport vehicle was parked on the side of the southern boulevard in San Pedro Sula. So far, it has not been confirmed whether other passengers were injured during the assault.
The situation has raised concerns among citizens about safety on public transport, while authorities are investigating the incident and looking for those responsible.
