Honduran man was trapped between cables after being electrocuted

The ENEE employee survived, but his death was reported after being lowered from the cables.

A Honduran member of a crew from the National Electric Energy Company (ENEE) lost his life after being electrocuted and trapped in high-tension cables in the Tejeras neighborhood, in Quimistán, Santa Bárbara, northwestern Honduras.

The incident occurred when Luis Alfredo Chicas Nataren was performing maintenance on a line in the sector.

The emergency was reported by his fellow crew members, who immediately requested a power cut to try to rescue Chicas Nataren, who was still alive.

However, the rescue was complicated. It took about 20 minutes before the Fire Department’s specialist team managed to lower him down using ropes.

The body of Luis Alfredo Chicas Nataren was handed over to the police authorities for removal, and his tragic death has left a deep pain among his colleagues and family.
