The Honduran said that there were 40 endless minutes of alarms, during which they also heard the explosions of missiles launched by Iran.
The Spanish-speaking spokesman for the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem, Miguel Muñoz, gave a shocking testimony on Tuesday about what happened in Israel during the missile attack by Iran .
During his participation in the news program Hoy Mismo Estelar, on TS i, Muñoz indicated that he and his family spent several very tense minutes locked in the air raid shelter installed in their apartment.
“We were inside the shelter for an hour, hermetically sealed. There were 40 endless minutes of alarms , during which we also heard the explosions,” Muñoz revealed.
He went on to say that Israeli authorities had warned citizens on Tuesday afternoon about the attack that Iran would carry out. They had therefore recommended that they stay close to shelters.
He said that this was a much more powerful attack than the previous one, which occurred in April of this year, in comparison to the number of missiles launched by the Iranian navy.
“It is without a doubt the most powerful attack I have experienced in Israel. We learned about the power of this weapon, it is comparable to a rocket being hit by a mortar,” he said.
Muñoz, who has lived in Jerusalem for about five years, said that despite the magnitude of the attack, he did not lose control of his emotions and was able to react calmly.
” We were quite calm at that time , we had gathered with other Latin American citizens to be together and encourage each other. The calm at that moment could have helped us ,” he said.
Finally, he said that he has not considered moving from one city or country to another, due to his religious commitment to those who need spiritual help.
Iran’s attack on Israel
Air raid sirens rang out across Israel on Tuesday, as Israel closed its airspace during the attack, and dozens of explosions were heard over Jerusalem. The Iranian-launched devices were visible by their luminous trails.
The Israeli military has intercepted a large number of missiles and said the Islamic Republic fired some 180 projectiles at the country.
Iran’s ideological Revolutionary Guards said the attack was a response to the killing of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah last week and Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh on July 31.
In a statement, they threatened to carry out “crushing attacks” if Israel responded to Tuesday’s offensive.
They also said they targeted “three military bases around Tel Aviv,” in another document released by the Isna agency.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Tehran’s attack was “totally unacceptable” and urged “the whole world” to “condemn it.”
Israel is waging war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip in response to the Palestinian Islamist group’s attack on the south of its territory on October 7, 2023.
The Israeli army is also fighting the pro-Iranian Lebanese Hezbollah, which opened a front against Israel in support of Hamas, which rules Gaza.
