Honduras will host the 27th edition of the Ibero-American Forum on Guarantee and Financing Systems for SMEs on Thursday and Friday, in which experts will analyze the scenarios that are transforming the geopolitical framework of the region and their impact on development, the organizers announced on Tuesday.
The meeting, which will be held under the motto ‘Guarantee systems in the face of the geopolitical, technological and climatic environment’, will be inaugurated by the general secretary of the Ibero-American Guarantee Network (REGAR), Luz Stella Lozano.
The Ibero-American Forum is organized by the Ibero-American Guarantee Network and the Reciprocal Guarantee Society (CONFIANZA SA-FGR), and will bring together regional authorities, economists and representatives of public and private financial institutions from twenty countries.
International experts will discuss new paradigms in the geopolitical and economic environment of the region, as well as guarantees against the impact of systemic and climatic crises .
They will also address guarantees in international trade, the power of guarantees in scenarios of fiscal austerity, and the role of guarantees in the face of the effects of globalization.
The topic ‘Comprehensive study on best practices in credit guarantee schemes-IDB’ will be led by Christian Schneider, senior specialist in Financial Markets at the Inter-American Development Bank.
Experts will also discuss ethics in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and will share workshops to exchange experiences on guarantees in the operation of financial institutions.
The Ibero-American Guarantee Network (REGAR) will take advantage of the stay of its representatives in Honduras to hold its general assembly this Wednesday.
