Hungry Nigerians Loot Truckload Of Spaghetti In Niger

Yesterday, some people attacked a truck carrying a carton of spaghetti near the Zaria-Kano expressway’s Dogarawa axis.
This occurred just one week after a group of people in the Suleja region of Niger State broke into trailers that were filled with food, taking sacks of rice and other food items in the midst of the nation’s general suffering.
Dogarawa is a community outside of Zaria that is situated by the highway.

When they blocked the route and started fires on the highway, the trailers were reportedly travelling from Kaduna to Abuja.
According to an eyewitness, the event yesterday happened at approximately 3:15 p.m. when the truck’s driver pulled over to observe prayer by the side of the road.

Daily Trust quoted the eyewitness as saying that immediately after the driver parked, people started carrying away cartons of spaghetti.
The eyewitness said such act had never occurred around the area since he had been trading there for more than 10 years.

“Not a single cartoon of the spaghetti was left by the hoodlums on the truck,” the source added. It was learnt that a police team deployed to the scene of the incident arrested five suspects.
