I feel famous: Korean doctor does community service in Guaimaca

The dentistry student recounts how she was greeted with enthusiasm during her visit to a Honduran community.

Kay Chung , a Korean-born dentistry student , shared her experience during a dental mission in Honduras on TikTok , quickly gaining the support of thousands of users.

In the video, which has already accumulated thousands of views, Kay narrates how she spent five days helping the community of Guaimaca , serving 137 Hondurans.

“I feel famous in Honduras,” she said in her video as she described how people pointed at her on the streets saying “look, look, they’re Chinese.”

Kay humorously clarified that although many thought she was Chinese, she is actually Korean.

During her stay, Kay was amazed to see how local students were drawing BTS, the popular K-pop band.

“The girl who made a drawing signed it so that she would always be remembered,” she said excitedly.

He did not forget his roots

In addition to performing tooth extractions and other dental care, Kay took the opportunity to try the local food. Although she was recommended the traditional baleadas, she opted to buy ramen, a touch of her Korean culture in Honduran lands.
