Learn the brutal story of Wade Wilson and whether he has already died after being sentenced to death for two brutal murders in Florida. Find out the details.
Is Wade Wilson dead yet? , known in the media as the “Deadpool Killer” , has caused shock in Florida after being sentenced to the death penalty for the murder of two women in 2019. This 30-year-old man , originally from Cape Coral, was convicted of the brutal crimes of Kristine Melton and Diane Ruiz , who lost their lives in terrifying circumstances.
On June 12, 2023, the court found Wade Wilson guilty of both murders, and shortly afterward, on June 25, a jury recommended the death penalty. Finally, on August 27 , Lee County Judge Nicholas Thompson followed this recommendation and handed down the death penalty.
Wilson will now be transferred to death row at Union Correctional Institution in Raiford, although he still faces additional charges, including attempted escape.
What was Wade Wilson’s crime like?
The Wade Wilson murders shook the quiet community of Cape Coral. In the case of Kristine Melton, 35, Wilson strangled her while she was sleeping after a night out. The attack took place in her own home, after the two spent time at the Buddah LIVE bar in Fort Myers.
Not satisfied with this crime, Wilson stole Melton’s car and later that day he met up with 43-year-old Diane Ruiz. He tricked her into asking for directions and, in an act of sheer brutality, ran her over several times after beating and strangling her. These acts added to widespread condemnation and revulsion.
What is even more shocking is that Wade Wilson confessed to both murders to his own biological father. Through several phone calls, Wilson detailed his crimes, which ultimately led to his arrest on October 8, 2019. This confession played a key role in the development of the case and his subsequent conviction.
However, a recent change in state law now requires only eight votes for such a recommendation. In the Wade Wilson case, the jury voted 9-3 in Melton’s murder and 10-2 in Ruiz’s, complying with the new standard.
