WHAT HAPPENED?
Speaking on The Overlap alongside Gary Neville, Ian Wright, and Jill Scott, Keane revealed his frustration over a neighbour’s use of a leaf blower at 7:15 a.m. The Irishman, who has previously voiced concerns about fireworks due to their effect on pets, extended his critique to leaf blowers and suggested that the early morning practice is a “disgrace”.

WHAT KEANE SAID
“I took my dog out this morning at 7:15 and where I live and someone is on the blower with the leaves at quarter past seven in the morning,” Keane narrated.
Scott, quipped back: “Do you think they should just leave them?”
Keane, undeterred, insisted: “It’s a disgrace. I think it should be banned. I was gonna go over and say ‘people are in bed!’ You’re not allowed to use them. It’s 8 o’clock.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Trafford Council, which oversees the area where Keane resides, advises against starting noisy building work before 7:30 a.m. on weekdays and 8:00 a.m. on weekends. While leaf blowers may not strictly fall under these regulations, gas-powered ones are known to produce sound levels between 80 and 90 decibels, a range considered harmful to human hearing if exposure is prolonged.
DID YOU KNOW?
Keane’s remarks come with a touch of irony, given his history with the term “noisy neighbour.” Sir Alex Ferguson famously coined the phrase in 2009 to describe rivals Manchester City following a derby win over Manchester City.
He said: “Sometimes you have a noisy neighbour. You cannot do anything about that. They will always be noisy. You just have to get on with your life, put your television on and turn it up a bit louder.”
However, Keane seems less inclined to tolerate the noise.

WHAT NEXT FOR MANCHESTER UNITED?
While Keane wrestles with his local noise issues, his former club Manchester United prepares for a crucial Premier League fixture against Ipswich Town on November 24 under new manager Ruben Amorim.
