Famous Parisian pastry chef, Cédric Grolet, is once again causing controversy. After the 90-euro galette des rois or the 80-euro strawberry tart, this time, it’s the ham and cheese sandwich, with truffles added, that’s driving consumers crazy.
30 euros. An exorbitant price for a sandwich… And yet, it’s not only the gourmet (and curious) influencers who seek this new discovery; there are who promote this new luxury creation every day.
For some of them, objectivity is still essential. This is the case of the influencer Carla Sofiya who, after having paid 30 euros for this exceptional dish (which she describes as “frankly good”), admits that it’s “not worth the price”.
On the web, Internet users are protesting: while some believe that this “simple sandwich” is worth a good meal in a restaurant, others claim that “it’s ridiculous”.
A justified price? According to Madame Figaro, such an amount is justified by the quality of the ingredients used: Paris ham, a baguette that is supposedly homemade with chestnut flour and a truffle from Périgord, indicates Démotivateur.
