King Charles is determined, he will not give up on his grandchildren

King Charles and Prince Harry have had a rocky relationship for years. That won’t stop Charles from doing everything he can to preserve his relationship with his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Charles’s entourage says the difficult relationship with his younger brother will not overshadow the king’s desire to be close to his grandchildren. Furthermore, Prince Harry “values family” and is determined to get closer to his father.
Charles was able to spend some time with Harry and Meghan Markle’s son Archie when he was born. Archie lived in the UK for about nine months before Harry and Meghan moved to the US. Charles reportedly hasn’t seen his grandson since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited in 2022. He’s only met Princess Lilibet once or twice.
Family above all else
“The King is absolutely determined to be present in all his grandchildren’s lives ,” a source close to the King told the Mirror . “He values family above all else, and whatever his relationship with his son goes, he would never settle for seeing his grandchildren on a video call.”
And despite Charles’ desire to be close to his grandchildren, it doesn’t seem like he’s doing everything he can to make that happen either. Charles didn’t support Harry when he visited the UK in May for a ceremony centered around the Invictus Games; he put his schedule ahead of his son’s.
Much to sort out
When Charles revealed his cancer diagnosis in February 2024, Harry rushed to the UK to be with his father. The two men didn’t speak for long, but in a later interview, Harry said : “I love my family.”
It seems that Harry and his father are not thriving in their current relationship. It is therefore quite possible that the grandchildren will mean change, slowly melting the tensions.
