Following the shocking death of Liam Payne on October 16, new details have come to light about the days leading up to his passing.
One of the three defendants in the case, Braian Nahuel Paiz , a 24-year-old waiter , has claimed that he had an intimate encounter with the former member of One Direction, in which both allegedly consumed drugs.
The case, which remains under investigation by the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office No. 14 , headed by prosecutor Andrés Madrea, has three people charged with alleged crimes of abandonment of a person, supply and facilitation of drugs.
Paiz told local media that he met Payne at his workplace, a well-known restaurant in Puerto Madero, when the singer visited the establishment with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, and other companions.
According to Paiz, the relationship between the two began on October 2 with eye contact that later led to exchanging messages and social media.
How was the meeting?
Paiz said the Briton was high on drugs when he met him and that, at a later meeting at the artist’s hotel, they consumed drugs and shared personal moments.
The young Argentinian described Liam as “sweet” and “concerned”, assuring that the singer did not show any aggressive attitude towards him.
However, she noted that Payne appeared restless and fearful at various times, going so far as to place papers in the slot of his bedroom door , as if trying to avoid being watched or heard.
The last communication between the two, according to Braian , occurred when the singer asked to return to the hotel together, although the request was not attended to due to the Argentine’s work commitments.
Authorities continue to gather evidence and testimonies to clarify the tragic death of the British artist, whose death shocked his fans around the world.
