Liverpool star Alexis Mac Allister ‘sued by ex-girlfriend’ following split days after World Cup win and new romance with childhood friend

The 25-year-old midfielder helped his nation to global glory at Qatar 2022 and was joined on the field for post-match celebrations by Mayan – as they posed for photos with the most famous of trophies. Mac Allister is said to have separated from his model partner in the immediate aftermath of that triumph – with a big-money transfer from Brighton to Liverpool being completed a matter of months later.

  Mayan has filed a lawsuit against Mac Allister, in which she is demanding financial compensation for the years that they spent living together outside of Argentina. She has also accused the creative playmaker of keeping belongings and being unfaithful with his current love interest – childhood friend Ailen Cova.

  WHAT MAC ALLISTER SAID

  Mac Allister has told reporters when quizzed on the matter, per The Mirror: “There was no more relationship. She took her path, I took mine, and that’s it. As for the other thing (the lawsuit), everything is in court, where it should be, and we are waiting. At the time we discussed what we needed to discuss, but it was clearly her decision, everything is fine and she is within her rights.”

  Mac Allister added on the accusations being levelled against him: “I think it’s normal in a relationship; she made the decision to come out and make public things that she felt or that she believes happened, but I know how things went and that’s why I’m very calm.”

  Mac Allister says he is now “happy” and “enjoying life together” with Cova, as they plan a long-term future in England. Any financial compensation owed to former flame Mayan will be determined in court, allowing an unfortunate and potentially distracting saga to be brought to a close.
