In China, near an air show, a motorist ploughed into a crowd at a sports center, killing several people. When he was stopped, the man stabbed himself.
35 dead and 43 injured – that’s the terrible toll of a car attack. A 62-year-old man drove his SUV into a sports center in the Xiangzhou district of Zhuhai, China, on Monday November 11, 2024. Clearly in psychiatric distress, the motorist was highly disturbed at the time of his arrest. He inflicted himself with several self-inflicted stab wounds. The last stab wounded him severely in the neck. He is now in a coma.
Several photos and videos of the car plunging into the crowd have been published on Chinese social media networks. However, the local authorities have since had them removed, leaving nothing more to be seen. The police also had to deal with a major international civil and military air show (photo), organized at the same time as the incident in the southern city.
