WHAT HAPPENED?

Robinson has been on top form over the last two seasons as the USMNT defender’s stock keeps rising through his performances with Fulham. Liverpool and Manchester United had shown a lot of interest in signing the 27-year-old in the summer but ultimately failed to do so as the Milton-Keynes-born defender decided to remain at Craven Cottage.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

As per Football Insider, Antonee’s consistent performances through the start of the season have enticed Manchester United and Liverpool yet again as their veteran left-backs Luke Shaw and Andy Robertson continue to struggle with fitness and form, respectively. The two Premier League giants are reportedly considering going back in to make a deal with Fulham to sign the USMNT star, but the London outfit have no interest in selling him in January.

    WHAT HAS BEEN SAID

Former Man United, West Ham and Aston Villa scout Mick Brown confirmed to Football Insider that United and Liverpool are tracking the full-back.

“After his form so far this season, I’ve heard there are a few clubs keeping tabs on him,” Brown said.

“Some of the top clubs in the Premier League have been watching him for a while, but the way he’s playing at the moment, that interest has grown.

“He’s one of the leading candidates for any team looking to sign a left-back. I’d count Man United and Liverpool among them. Whether they’ll make a move or not, I’m not sure, but they’re among the clubs tracking him.

“From what I hear, Fulham won’t let him leave in January anyway, so if it happens it won’t be until the end of the season.”

    DID YOU KNOW?

Another source, GiveMeSport, have reported that Manchester City have also joined the race to sign Robinson in January as the defending Premier League champions struggle with form. Josko Gvardiol has been doing a fine job for Pep Guardiola at left-back, however, due to their defensive issues, the Spaniard is considering shifting the Croatian defender to centre-back. As such, City are considering signing a natural left-back as 21-year-old Josh Wilson-Esbrand is the only natural in the squad in that position.

    WHAT NEXT FOR ROBINSON?

The Fulham star is currently with the USMNT as they look to reach the semi-final of the CONCACAF Nations League. Robinson will be in action next when Mauricio Pochettino’s side take on Jamaica in the second leg of the quarter-final tie on Monday, November 18, after beating the Reggae Boyz 1-0 in the first leg.
