Singer Marc Anthony made official his support for the Democratic candidate for the White House and vice president of the United States, Kamala Harris, through an advertisement released this Friday and in which he reminds Latinos how “divisive” the mandate of the former president ( 2017-2021 ) and Republican candidate, Donald Trump, was.

In front of the cameras, the salsa singer said that he has not forgotten what the Trump presidency was like and especially what he “did and said” about Puerto Rico after the devastating impact of Hurricane Maria on the island in 2017 .

” Trump blocked billions in aid while thousands were dying. I remember when we needed clean water and electricity, Trump threw paper towels at them and called Puerto Rico ‘dirty and poor,'” Anthony said in the ad.

Trump threatened to separate children from their families

The interpreter also recalled that Trump has already announced that, if he wins the elections on November 5 , “he will separate (undocumented) children from their families, and threatened to use the Army to do so.”

“This election goes beyond political parties. We must remember that this is what the United States is about, being UNITED. No matter where we come from,” stressed the musician, born in New York to Puerto Rican parents.

The announcement is part of a $370 million investment by Harris ‘ campaign in television and digital advertising leading up to Election Day, with an emphasis on key states.
