Marriage between Russia and North Korea now also officially sealed

MPs of the Russian State Duma, the lower house of parliament, unanimously approved the “treaty on the global strategic partnership” with North Korea.

Vladimir Putin had signed that treaty on June 19 during a visit to Pyongyang. Among other things, the treaty provides for “immediate military assistance” in the event of aggression by another country. So now both countries have also created a legal framework for their military aid to each other. Consequently, representatives of Western countries now fear a large-scale escalation in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
