In recent hours, a shocking video has been trending on social media, where a young woman named Melani is brutally attacked at a Halloween party in the city of Tampico , Mexico.

The shocking video has generated a wave of comments showing indignation and concern from the population. It has also raised alarms about gender violence in the state of Tamaulipas, revealing the delicate problems that women face in the face of these attacks.

It is known that the young Melani, 20 years old , is a Nursing student at the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas (UAT). According to the information, the incident occurred on October 31, 2024 in the Revolución Verde neighborhood of Ciudad Madero, when Melani attended a costume party with friends and her partner, Christian de Jesús.

The complaint about what happened was made public through social media. During the night of October 31 and the early morning of November 1, the attacker made inappropriate contact with a friend of Melani, which led the young woman to decide to leave the place.

Moments later, a security camera near the place where the party was taking place captured the exact moment when the 24-year-old punched Melani in the left eye, causing her to fall to the ground instantly.

In the video, another person, a young woman named Paola , appears making a phone call. In response, the young woman tries to separate the attacker from Melani, but fails, as Christian drags Melani across the floor.

The  Attorney General’s Office of Tamaulipas  (FGJTam) is offering a reward of  200 thousand pesos  to anyone who provides information that helps locate the alleged attacker, who was caught on video beating Melanie.

Likewise, the ( FGJTam ) opened an investigation file for the aggression towards the young woman. Both the police and Melani’s family are working to find the alleged person responsible for the beating.

Christian de Jesús Rojas Martínez (24 years old) , the alleged aggressor, is a medical student at the Institute of Sciences and Higher Education of Tamaulipas . His whereabouts are currently unknown.

Melani’s current status

Melani is hospitalized at the Regional General Hospital No. 6 of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS ), with injuries such as fractures in her jaw, nose and left eye. The young woman’s mother, identified as María del Socorro, is collecting money at Melani’s educational institution and through social media.
