A mother and her daughter were shot on Friday afternoon near the Toncontín airport in Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras.
The two women, who were selling nacatamales in the area, were shot by subjects on a motorcycle who then fled the area.
One of the victims (the mother) died instantly, while the other was taken to a medical centre by members of the National Police. According to the information, the young woman had a bullet wound in her face, so her condition is critical.
Police authorities said they are conducting an inspection of the security cameras in the area to find those responsible for the crime. They also said they already have the first hypotheses about the motive for the murder.
Although it has not been confirmed, the National Police Commissioner, Miguel Martínez Madrid, said that it could be a dispute between criminal structures.
