Mother arrested for selling her 16-year-old daughter to buy a house

A woman in Argentina has been arrested after selling her 16-year-old daughter to a 57-year-old businessman in an attempt to raise money to buy a house.

 The case has sparked outrage in the community of Concordia, Argentina , and was brought to light thanks to a complaint by a friend of the mother, who informed the authorities about the agreement.

During the investigation, the mother tried to justify her daughter ‘s absence , assuring the police that she was out of town with an “acquaintance” and that she had no plans to return.

Although the police requested that she contact the young woman, she contacted Walter C., the merchant involved, who was in Mercedes, Argentina .

The investigation focused on a possible case of human trafficking, leading police to question neighbors, who claimed the teenager was Walter C. ‘s girlfriend.

However, he denied any romantic involvement and described her as his employee. His anxious behaviour aroused suspicion, prompting officers to follow him, discovering that he had picked up the young woman and two other teenagers.
