Lifeguards evacuated ‘Coogee Beach’ in the eastern Australian coastal city of Sydney after finding mysterious, black balls along the entire length of the beach. The beach was already closed until further notice as it is not immediately clear what exactly is going on.
“Right now it’s unclear what the material is. But it may be ‘tar balls,’ which are formed when oil comes into contact with water and debris. That is usually the result of an oil spill,” it sounds. The local government says the environmental department immediately took samples, which will now be tested.
