WHAT HAPPENED?
The Allyn Family, based out of New York, recently formed the Red Dragon Ventures LLC with Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney which helped them to buy minority stakes in the Welsh club. The family-owned Welch Allyn, Inc., a world-renowned medical device company, will now support Reynolds and McElhenney as they try to take the Red Dragons to the Premier League.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID
Speaking to Syracuse.com, Welch Allyn vice president, Eric Allyn said, “Wrexham was a mining town, a steel town, working-class oriented with lots of breweries. Then the steel and mining collapsed and the breweries collapsed, and the city really collapsed in on itself. We know we can’t reproduce Welch Allyn, but at least we can have investments we can connect to. We love to invest in great companies.”

THE BIGGER PICTURE
