Three Liverpool stars, Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah, are out of contract at the end of the current season and the players are yet to agree to put pen to paper on a new deal. The contract situation of the Reds stars has been a major headache for new manager Arne Slot. To avoid such a situation in the future, the Merseyside club are planning to offer new deals to Konate and Quansah, according to The Times.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Twenty-one-year-old Quansah made his senior debut for Liverpool in 2021 after graduating from their academy. While the youngster still has three years left in his existing contract, the club are already planning to extend it as they consider it to be a reward for his consistency on the pitch. Konate, on the other hand, has two years left in his contract. After a disappointing outing in the 2023-24 campaign, the French defender has significantly improved under Slot’s tutelage having scored twice. The Premier League giants have initiated preliminary talks to tie him down to a new long-term deal.
