North Korea claims to have discovered the wreckage of a South Korean drone near Pyongyang, calling it sufficient evidence to threaten its neighbor with nuclear conflict.

A spokesperson from North Korea’s Ministry of Defense stated that a drone carrying a box of leaflets was found on October 13, not far from the North Korean capital.

The state-run news agency KCNA reported that this alleged discovery constitutes “decisive material evidence” of South Korea committing an act of provocation. Upon analysis, the remote-controlled device was confirmed to have come from Seoul.

North Korea has repeatedly warned that any violation of its airspace, borders, or territorial waters would be considered a “grave provocation violating the sovereignty of the DPRK.”

In recent weeks, tensions between the two neighboring nations have escalated, particularly after Pyongyang accused Seoul of flying drones near the capital.

South Korea has denied these accusations, vowing a strong response to any provocations.

Recently, Pyongyang symbolically destroyed the last remaining roads and rail lines connecting the two countries.
