Orhan Erdemir and Elif Karaarslan video: referee suspended for intimate recording
On X, formerly known as Twitter, a leaked intimate video is circulating between a Turkish-born referee and a former FIFA official.

Social media has been abuzz following the leak of the video of 24-year-old referee Elif Karaarslan and 61-year-old former FIFA official Orhan Erdemir , sparking controversy.
The footage shows the two characters having sex, prompting the Turkish Football Association (TFF) to ban them, but Karaarslann has denied being involved and is alleged to have been created using Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The Istanbul native said: ” I have a long legal road ahead of me, but I will overcome it in the most forceful way. I hope to have all your support and love in this process. Crying, screaming and being sad are not things I would do. I am not like that. I will defend my cause to the end. I am just one of many who are being harmed. I hope I am the last .”
Turkish media outlet OrduHayat reported that she told the arbitration panel: ” There is a video that is trying to be associated with me, but it has nothing to do with me and the image quality is extremely poor. I am not the person who appears in the video and the fact that I am facing such a serious accusation is an attack on a woman’s honour .”

The 24-year-old referee, who has a strong Instagram presence with 384,000 followers, has claimed to be the one in the video and her lawyer has argued that it was created using artificial intelligence (AI) with harmful intentions.
” A staged video was uploaded to social media, which was not the original and was created entirely using artificial intelligence from another person’s social media account and has no relation to the client in any way ,” it explained in a statement.
Orhan Erdemir, originally from Istanbul and an international referee between 1999 and 2002, said that the leak of the video had an impact on his personal and professional life.
” My honour in my family, in my social circle and in the refereeing community has been destroyed. In addition to my financial losses, the emotional damage I have suffered is indescribable ,” Erdemir explained.
The former Turkish referee began serving in 1985 and was active for 12 seasons, officiating 136 Turkish Super League matches and also being part of the roster that was part of the Turkish Cup, among other organisations.
The TFF report, which was posted on its website, states that despite Elif Karaarslan’s arguments, the decision was taken not to uphold the objection and the suspension was unanimously decided.
